New to mixing drinks, I was wondering if you can make Green Apple Martinis without a shaker? Every recipe I've seen so far says to use a shaker with ice, but I dont have one.

  1. Contrary to popular belief clear liquors should NEVER be shaken, they should always be stirred. Fill a shaker glass, what American more commonly refer to as a pint glass, half way with ice. Add to this your vodka/gin and vermouth. Stir and strain into your cocktail glass.

The act of shaking breaks off more ice into the liquor bruising the flavor. When you stir, you have less flavor loss and you still achieve maximum coldness.

I'm going to assume that you are using apple infused vodka and a sweet vermouth...so I won't get into how adding -tini to the end of any random mixed cocktail doesn't in fact make it a martini. Apple infused vodka and sour apple puckers, though good together does not a martini make.

    Enjoy.

  2. if you have a glass and a plastic cup that either fits over or inside of the glass, then you've got a shaker. the plastic will mold to the shape of the glass and should provide a watertight seal to shake the drink. If that doesn't work, stirring should work just fine. Get a long spoon, cover the glass with your hand, stick the spoon in between one of your fingers, and stir vigorously. Enjoy

  3. You don't need a shaker. The shaker cools the drink and then allows you to pour it without getting ice in it. Cool the beverages first and then mix them.Or you can use a glass of ice to mix the stuff and then place part of your hand over the opening and let the liquid go into the glass. Cheers!

  4. Here's a simple recipe:

You do not need a shaker, you can "box" the drink, pouring it back and forth between two cups. However, the best way to make the drink is with a shaker. I think that site has them pretty cheap. Hope this helps!

  5. Tumble it.  Make it one glass,  then pour all contents into another glass.  do this a couple times to mix it well, then strain the ice out and serve.

  6. Just stir the d**n thing... you're not James Bond.
