Apple to release TV come Video Game console this year? –Rumour

Recent reports indicate that the Apple TV could come with a built-in Kinect styled video game console and with Apple’s CEO visiting Valve’s HQ, it does seem a possibility.
At the moment the video game console market is dominated by Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony with the Nintendo Wii and soon to be announced Nintendo Wii U, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 respectively.
Yet, if recent reports are true then Apple and possibly even Valve will be making a move to enter that highly competitive market, with the former even doing so by the end of the current year.
The rumour began when Valve posted an advertisement for a job that dealt with the hardware side of console development. The internet was abuzz with speculation and Valve themselves commented on the matter saying that they were in the Research and Development
part of bringing wearable gaming hardware to the market.
However, the spokesperson also said that it might not work out and that gamers should not be getting their hopes up at this point.
On the other hand, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, was recently spotted visiting Valve’s Head Quarters in a move that sent a million heads exploding at the thought of what the meeting could have been about.
Some speculate that Valve and Apple may be working together on a console to rival the likes of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, although seeing how both companies have completely different approaches to projects and the way they do business that seems highly
unlikely.
The next logical step would be Apple discussing a possible move for Valve to support a console from the consumer electronics giant.
Apparently, the soon to be released Apple TV will boast a built in video game console or to be more specific, “will come with an Apple-branded Kinect-like video game console”. The rather vague statement basically means that the Apple console will rely on
motion controls and could even allow the use of the iPhone and the iPad as a potential controller for video games.
All in all, the only thing one knows for certain is that Apple and Valve are up to something and that we cannot wait to find out what.
