ok so i planted an apple seed and im trying to grow a tree. my tree has seemed healthy untill now. the stalk is turning yellow and there is some kind of white flakes on all the leaves. originally it was on just one of the leaves but now it has spread to all of them! i poked holes in the cup and a bunch of water spilled out. is the plant just getting too much water or am i looking at a big problem here?

thanks for your help.

  1. Sounds like you might have a dampening off problem.  This occurs when there is too much moisture and not enough air flow.  Unfortunately it sounds like it may be too late.  Try to take off all the infected leaves and replant it in new, fresh soil.  Keep it moist but not soaking wet.  If every last leaf has it and is curling up then your chances are very slim but a recovery could happen.
