Can someone give examples of practical applications of terminal velocity & viscosity. I tried searching but couldn't get specific answers. Plz give immediate replies.

  1. Viscosity is the property of a fluid (or gas) that measures its resistance to being pulled apart or being cut through.  

    Terminal velocity is a term applied to bodies that fall through the atmosphere that at a certain speed the viscosity of air prevents the object from accelerating further.  

    I remember terminal velocity in air is about 400 mi/hr, but you'll have to find it.  The falling object is cutting through the air, so we refer to this as shear viscosity.  

    Viscous liquids stick to things, so they can be used as temporary coatings.
