Applications for Blackberry Curve From Verizon?

I have seen a lot of apps online for the Blackberry Curve, and am thinking about getting one soon. I'm on Verizon, and I'm just wondering if these Blackberry apps are available regardless of carrier. The Verizon one at the store seems to just have four things at the bottom and no room to expand up the screen, due to an ugly Verizon logo. I'm just looking for some advice from anyone else who has a Blackberry Curve from Verizon.

I am a Verizon sales rep and have a curve. there are other themes on the phone that will allow more icons for the front like the "L" theme. I downloaded my from a web site.
