We have 2 cats and 2 kittens, all got same dose of Advantage flea drops. Did as instructed and separated them for 24 hours. Worried we might have overdosed the kittens. Package says 9lbs. and under.

  1. They should be fine. You didn't overdose.

Just remember that flea products are a poison, even if they are deemed safe, so they can affect the overall health of the pet for a day or two until they wear down a bit.

If the kittens don't perk up in 72 hours, see the vet for sure.

  2. You should definitely call a vet and/or Advantage to ask them.  An adult dose of flea medicine is really a lot for a kitten that small, but the veterinary hospital I worked for exclusively sold frontline, so I don't know what side-effects advantage can have.  Better safe than sorry though, so call someone.

  3. You might want to ask your vet.  My kitty always got lethargic for a couple of days after a flea treatment, but turns out she was allergic to it.  So now I just stick to the collars and she's a happy kitty.  But you'd have to ask your vet.

  4. call the vet, better to be safe than sorry.  i hope that they are alright.

  5. When it comes to dosing kittens for anything, you should always consult a vet or the vet tech before doing it.  You may have overdosed them, it depends on how old they are.  I would call the vet and explain what happened so if steps need to be taken, they will in a timely manner.  Diagnosing problems on the internet is just not a good thing, no one has all the information needed (cats blood pressure, heart rate, temp, what the eyes look like, size, breed....) there are too many variables.  Call your vet.
