Applied for financial aid but still have to pay?

i was qualified and applied for financial aid. both my parents are gone and i live with my grandmother who doesnt work and lives off of social security. how come on my tution bill it says that have to pay 2000 dallors for the fall classes even though i applied for financial aid?

Usually Financial Aid payments aren't processed till after tuition is due, so in many colleges and universities you have to pay the tuition yourself, and then you will be reimbursed when you receive the financial aid payment.   If you are unable to pay you can talk to a financial aid advisor at your school and see if they have a tuition deferment program.
