Apply for Canadian citizenship when your father was Canadian?

I heard that there is a different way to apply for citizenship in Canada when your father was born there. Is that true, and how does that work? And how would you apply?

If you father was a Canadian  citizen at the time of your birth you are a Canadian.All you need to do is apply for proof of citizenship.
