  1. I don't know what country you're coming from. And I am not sure about chinese..but when I got off the plane it took about 20 minutes of waiting in line and then you get a 30 day tourist visa for 15 $us... then if you want to stay longer you just go request a residency visa. All of this is with american passport

  2. If you're British and holding a valid British passport, then you either go to the Egyptian Embassy in Kinsington High Street or just get your visa from any Egyptian airport where you land and  pay on the spot.

  3. Luxor airport has a Visa kiosk for you to buy one on arrival, its about £9-10, not much. They just stamp your passport & your on your way, dosnt take long. I dont think it would be different for a Chinese person, as its the same for the Americans.

I dont know about Cairo or Sharm, maybe some other people will give you the answer there.

Have a lovely time, you'll love Egypt.

  4. Get your visa at the Airport when you land. I've been twice (from UK) and both times I filled in a visa card at Luxor airport and queued there to get it. You just need to hand in the card with your passport - took about 15 mins.

Easier than sending your passport off to the embassy and risking it getting lost or being delayed in the post!

    Update:

    Section II:

Nationals of China, Philippines and Sri Lanka working in the UK can obtain single entry tourist visa. Kindly provide us with the following:

    1. All the documents mentioned in "Requirements when applying for a visa to Egypt"

    2. Validity of their UK working visa for further 6 months

    3. Return tickets

    4. Bank statement

    5. Letter from the employer

Chinese students can obtain single entry tourist visa providing us with the following:

1.All the documents mentioned in 'Requirements when applying for a visa to Egypt'

    2. Letter from recognized UK University addressed to the Egyptian Consulate, stating the duration of the enrolment.

    3. Return ticket

    4. At least 6 months validity left of their UK student visa.

  5. As you enter Egypt, you can get a visa from the airport. You just join the queue at the visa window. Its not a problem, you just pay and they stamp your passport (its not expensive, about £9-10, $20). I know some chinese friends who went to Egypt and got their visa the same way.

The other answer referring to someone being refused for having less than 6 months left on their passport is correct - but correct for any country in the world. No country will allow entry to anyone with less than 6 months left on their passport.

Have a great holiday in Egypt.

    :)

edit - you can telephone the Egyptian Embassy and make enquiries, but you can't just walk in, you need to ask them if you can make an appointment to get your visa. I do not think that they will do it that way, I think that they only deal with visa's by post. Anyway, good luck.

  6. think you should check the chinese egyptian embassy web site, as it may be difficult to get a visa at the airport. my daughters friends who are chinese students living in egypt planned to go to egypt last easter. but found that one of them didnt have six months left on their passport and could not get the visa, so i think they must have applied for the visa in england at the egyptian embassy.although as i said one of them was refused becuase of not having 6 months validity left.
