I am an American citizen from birth. I moved to Egypt to marry my husband. The embassy said I had to wait until October before I could begin step one for my husbands USA citizenship. If I take a job in Libya will it change the jurisdiction of the immigration office. because currently it is local...in Cairo. I would still retain my 5 year residency permit in Egypt of course, and my husband and I would travel together, not sepperate. Can anyone give advice? I have emailed the Embassy already but just am searching for quick info and second opinions. Thanks so much!!

  1. Stay there.  Surrender your citizenship.  Sounds good to me.

  2. I think jurisdiction will not change because it is nothing to do with egypt or libya

You are applying for American citizenship to your husband.

not for egyptian or libyan citizenship.

if you are american, do you know how much hostile is libya to USA
