  1. Read the fine print and UNDERSTAND what the fine print is saying!  They are all basically the same.  Don't pay just the minimum monthly payment or you will NEVER pay it off.  If you decide to get a CC, force yourself to never charge more than you can pay off in that month.  The interest can sound low, but in reality it can really add up to a lot if you just make the minimum monthly payments.  This website may be helpful for you:  http://www.federalreserve.gov/Pubs/shop/

  2. Look for annual fees. Also read about missing a payment if they can jack your rate up insanely. Also, some credit card companies will jack your interest rate up if you are late on another payment that is not even theirs! A car note, mortgage, another credit card. Read the fine print!

  3. make sure you look for one that has low interest rates and it gives you rewards with your purchases, check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com here you will be able to compare all major credit cards side by side.

  4. Finding the best credit card that fits your individual needs doesn’t have to be difficult. You need to be able to identify the important points that need to be evaluated. This makes perfect sense as that is the only way you will be able to determine which is the better deal. Don’t assume the best credit card is the one that came to you as a pre-approved offer in the mail last week.

  5. since this is your first card, try to get one with a low credit limit say around $300. Learn to manage the card and then go for higher limit cards. Make sure there are no annual fees associated with them. They might give you a good interest rate for 12 months but make sure to pay your cards off every month in full. Remember that plastic is not fake money. Dont spend the money you dont have in the bank.

Capital One has some good offers.

  6. When applying for credit card, you need to make sure that you apply for cards with low Apr, no annual fees and some rewards such as cash back, miles or point. Also, you want to pay your credit card bills on time and sometimes you can always more than your minimum. You can search, compare and apply for credit cards at http://www.bestcreditcardratings.com
