I dropped off my application, and the manager took it, skimmed through it, asked where'd I get the app from, I said the internet, he said how old are you? I said 16. Then he said okay well, I'll call you for an interview. How long do you think it'll take? I dropped it off yesterday (thurs) today is friday

  1. call them on monday and just say you dropped off an app and you were calling to see if they looked it over yet and made any decisions.

    thats good to say.

**** you terry I know your the one who gave me thumbs down

  2. Well the number one thing you need to learn is that you always need to be the one to call the employer back.It will show them that you really want this job and that you are interested.

I would call today, remind him who you are and dont hang up until you have an interveiw set up

  3. You'd be better off applying at Mooby's, where you're not just an employee...you're a funployee! :D

  4. Okay, this same exact thing happened to me. About a week ago, I dropped off an application that I printed off the internet, and the manager took a quick glance, asked my age, "15 I replied" he looked at me, then mentioned he'd give me a call. Today, it's been a week and no call. I'm concerned, I want the job. So I called, and they just had me go up there for an interview. The manager told me when I got there, "I don't know why we didn't hire you on the spot when you turned it in.."

So, my advice to you is, call. Let them know you want this job. Even if it means to bug them. It is extremely easy to get a job at Sonic. I start tomorrow. I know you're expecting a call, and so was I. My friends say it takes about 4-5 days, and if they haven't called after that, call them.

    I don't think I should wish you luck, I know you'll get it. :]

  5. Give him until Monday. If he doesn't call by noon,or (wait until Tuesday) then call him and let him know that you are still interested.

  6. It means you havn't got the job.

  7. I would call or go by Monday or Tuesday to check on the "status" of your app... to show you really have a interest in working..If you dont get a good answer then, keep applying elsewhere and maybe eventually they will call you.But dont sit around and wait on them to call..Apply anywhere and everywhere:) Everybody needs some summer cash! If you wait around that just means somebody else will get a app in before you do and lessen your chances-so get to filling them out & getting them in:) $$$$$$$$

  8. wait until next week if he don't call then you call them

  9. He probably got busy do not worry about it he will probably call by monday. (usually managers take off the weekend and make supervisors in charge)

but if he does not call by monday call on tues (a time when they are not busy so before lunch hour rush) and get an update from him say something like

    Hi, this is________

I droped of my resume to you on thurs and I was still hoping if we could sit down for an interview.

  10. Relax! They will call.  Wait till next week and call them if you have not heard anything. With the economy the way it is, managers are getting tons of apps a day to look through,

  11. im sure they are waiting on aFBI  background investigation to be completed on you Buddy.... Geeeeeeeezzzz what a worrisome person you are...

sonic will call if they need help

until then aim higher get a job out of fast food...

i didnt vote you down michael... i do knowthough for accusing me of it with your paranoid, fast food working simple mind

okay so you know im serious... first off,, the MGR got defensive about where ya got the app? second of allit doesnt take all day to interview a carhop... so if the MG was hiring they probably would have giving you an interview on the spot for your initiative and interest in the job... and lastly... Isnt there other places you can apply and not get a cold shoulder from MGR right off the bat?

  12. Give it til Wed. or Thursday next week and then call the manager and ask whats going on.

  13. Give it another day and call the place. Ask to speak with the manager and tell him that you filled out an application on Thursday and wanted to check up on it.

  14. I would give them at least a week.

It's going to depend on whether or not they are hiring, the qualifications on your application, when the hiring manager works (he may be on vacation), and when they do hiring (maybe they only do them in batches once or twice a month).

Based on those and other factors, you may not get a call at all... but I would give them at least a week, b/c the odds of them placing a call on an application that fast is pretty rare.
