I'm applying for a passport and I know I have to submit the "certified copy" of my birth certificate, but I'd like to know, since I'm in a rush, can I just submit what I have now and just order other copy when I get back from trip? Help! In california

  1. they will want all the proper documentation in order to process it

if everyone said that they would send it later it wouldn't work well

    it would be unsafe

but i would call them and ask if there is any flexibility on these things

for a higher price you can probably get it done faster

good luck, and have a good trip

  2. if you have the certified true copy now, then use it. you can always ask another copy when you get back.

  3. It must be certified from the State and County you were born in.  It can not be the hospital one they give you with the cute feet and mom's thumb print.  You can get vital records sent to you via most health departments in your are.  Mine cost like $12 and only took 3 days.  You can get expedited stamps to put on the passport application and include with it another self addressed expedited envelope for them to send the passport in.  This really makes a difference!

  4. i hate when you ask boring fuggen questions

  5. it seems that you have a certified copy of your birth certificate now ... yes, you can submit that ...

yes, you can request for another certified copy again of your birth certificate when you come back ...
