  1. it depends on the type of visa you want to apply for. there are several different types.

it is very difficult to get immigration advice from anybody in Australia, without paying money and going through alot of headache. If you want to get a permanent visa (which can cost around $2000 just for the application, and nine months of waiting), I would recommend that you do use an agent. I would get an Australian agent that is certified and licensed to do immigration applications.

There is a blacklist of people's names and business that are not allowed to practice immigration visa and you should be sure not to use those people.

i recently obtained my "working holiday" visa which allows me to work in Australia up to 12 months. I can renew it easily for another 12 months. The only drawback is that I can work for one employer for up to six months at a time, and cannot go beyond six months.

Also alot of Australian companies do not do visa sponsorship due to the large amount of money and time it takes to obtain one. I have heard that Australian companies do not like to put all the money down and have to wait for clearance, because people may change their minds and leave the company stuck with the bill.

All of the forms are available from Australia's immigration website:

    http://www.immi.gov.au/immigration.htm

The hardest part of the whole process is deciding what visa you are elgible for and what visa best suits your needs. It took me weeks to figure out which visa was the best for me. Once I figured it out, it only took about 30 minutes and $180 USD to apply and the next day I received an email that I was approved.

    Good luck!

  2. The first two answers give you all the information and links you will need.

Some time after your application, you will be assigned a case officer and that person will guide you through everything you need to do.

Don't worry about it. Fill in the forms to the best of your ability. Provide everything they ask for and it will all go smoothly AND you'll save a lot of money you would have spent on an agent.

  3. the Australian immigration site has everything you need, this is for the forms

    http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/index.ht...

it gives you step by step instructions, will tell you where and when to get things done

this page will tell you of a booklet you need to get to assist you in your application

    https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/visas/app/u...

you just need to read and follow all instructions and you should be fine

  4. Some of my friends have have migrated to Australia without using an agent and my husband and I didn't use a agent when my husband and children were applying for their visas.

My friends used this booklet on the Internet.

It gives you all the information they you need, what forms you will need and where and how to find the forms you will need .

The very last thing that you happen in the whole process is that is your medical exam.Australia house will let you know when to go for it with a list of doctors that you can use.I hope I was of some help.

    Take care.
