  1. Hello there from What country do you come?

Work visa is not easy to get.As all EU citizens don't need a work visa and will be employed before.

There are a few possibilities left find a company that wants to employ you they can help with the visa or do take the advice Wulf gave.

  2. I am American and have done the same as you are doing.

Do you speak fluent or near fluent German? If you do not than you either need to be hired by a Company in the USA that would have needs of you in Germany or a German Company looking for English Tutors if you have teaching experience. That is what I did.

Now to do this and earn money from Germany you have to get a work permit and visa and that is usually obtained from the German government. I am sure if you go to their Embassy website you can get all the information you need.

NOW if you already have your OWN business as I do now, you can move to Germany and work there but you still need a visa, it now is a questions of who do you pay taxes too? Germany, USA or Both? this is what I am looking into right now. I can self support myself from my USA income even if I live there, but DO want to add German clients as well once there so I have my business  Liscence I just need the permit to practice it in Germany and who I pay taxes too.

So how do you plan to work? On your own, for someone else? There is much to consider if you are seeking employment. You have to prove that you are needed there basically. I know English tutors and translators are always needed and is what I did when i lived there the first time. Now when I move back i will have a full web company and have to figure out how to legally operate it as I said.

    Hope that helps some!

  3. To get a work visa you will first need a job. Only with the letter from the company that wants to employ you, you can apply for a work visa.
