Applying for a year abroad program???

do i really have to pay to be a year abroad student or is it just a hoax??...if not, what's the payment for? and i tried to search online and it said to pay a hundred bucks and i dont want to waste money for nothing..T-T

  1. Yes, you do have to pay. The payment goes towards your plane ticket fee, visa, passport, orientations, language lessons, extra required medical insurance, and 24/7 support from the organization.

    Exchange programs costs between $3,900 and $10,000.

  2. Of course you need to pay!  Someone has to pay the people who work for the organizations, your housing, food, travel, program activities, and often, school tuition.  You don't think these things come for free, do you?

    If they are asking for an application fee, that would be for the time and effort it takes to process your application.  They may not all ask for that.
