my current philippine passport was submitted to a foreign embassy for visa processing. since it is not certain when it will be done and be given back to me due to retrogression, i have decided to work abroad again for a different country while it is still pending.

so is it possible to apply for another valid philippine passport for me to work abroad even though i still have a current passport but still under processing by another foreign embassy?

  1. I am from the Department of Foreign Affairs, no it is not possible for you to apply for another valid Philippine passport without cancelling the old one that is pending in the foreign embassy.  You will have to report it as lost or unrecoverable, in which case, you apply for a new one and give all the supporting documents as if it is your first time to apply for a new passport (NSO, IDs, NBI, etc.)  Moreover, there is also a waiting period of 20 working days before your application is processed.

On the other hand, you can also go to the foreign embassy and get your old passport and use it to travel to your new job or renew it before you apply.
