  1. If you have an interview scheduled already, it sounds like it is going well so far.  A big part of the hiring process is the in-person interview, so be prepared to make a good impression.  There is a demand for correctional officers in the state of TX, but I can't say for certain about the county you are referring to--obviously, there is at least one opening there.  One hint that I will give you for future reference with your resume is that I would omit the skills or employment skills portion of it.  You list many qualities in both lists, so it appears redundant.  Also, I would condense your computer skills to one line.  For example: "proficient and skilled in utilizing computers, knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, etc."  List specific programs like Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, etc. that you are proficient in, especially if it is pertinent to the job that you are applying for.  A lot of people would say that they are skilled in computers because they do yahoo answers and World of Warcraft.  As far as the interview, mentally prepare yourself for what the supervisor might ask.  Read the job description thoroughly and think of what qualities you have that would make you a good detention officer.  Be prepared to answer what your greatest weakness is--this is asked in almost every job interview.  Another popular question is, "where do you see yourself in 5 years?"  Do as mush research as you can to appear knowledgeable and confident.  Seeming uncertain or having to think a lot can be a definite drawback, as can not appearing to know what to say.  Good luck in your interview!
