  1. ask these questions of the DVLA web site,

  2. Apply on line, that way they check your information on the data base I.e. Car has and MOT, Insurance etc so you don't need to produce the 'forms' as you would have too at the post office.

  3. The post office has a form for you to tax it with!  Believe it is called a V10

  4. Yes the DVLA will send you a new V5. It could take up to six weeks to arrive(though usually it's a lot quicker). In the meantime, I thinking you'll have left the small green slip? It's called the V5/C. Fill it in with your details. Then along with a valid certificate of insurance or cover note, MOT if required, a form V10, form V62 and payment take it to your nearest DVLA office. You can find out where your nearest is by going to the dvla website.

  5. You'll need to use a V10 form, available online or at your post office. You'll need to tax it at a post office, the online system won't work as you don't have a V5 in your name.

The new V5 may take a couple of weeks to arrive.
