Question:

Applying for student finance...?

I'm filling out my application for student finance, and I'm confused about whether I still need to send my passport/birth certificate.

Months ago, a man came into my college from something to do with SF (sorry for the lack of details, if i knew them I'd give them!) and checked passports, copying the details down.

And since this was months ago and I have the world's worst memory, I can't remember if I'm still supposed to send my passport away with the application. Do I still have to or should I just in case?

  1. If you can revise your above text with what SF you are applying for, and what country! UK's SF differs from state (england, scotland, wales and N.Ireland).

But in Scotland we apply to SAAS and they didn't request any form of photo ID. The UNI basically verifies you are who you are by replying to them at the start of the year.

  2. I would send them anyway just to be on the safe side. The application goes to the main office to start with and it is unlikely they will have received your details that he took down. It won't harm to just put it in there...after all you don't want them to send you your appilcation back for you to put the passport in...it just takes longer to process your application.
