Applying for visa for coming to america..can someone help me?

my aunt and uncle from india want to come to the usa...they called us on monday and told me that they are planning to visit..when my mom called them yesterday, they didnt apply for the visa..is there a way of knowing whether or not they're serious about coming or are they just kidding..my cousin came to america last year..he was coming in june but he called me on the day he got his visa from the us ambassady..i knew right away that he was actually coming..how much time in advance does someone need to apply for their visa to come to america..

  2. Well, in my experience, it seems the sooner they apply the better. If you go to the embassy website, that might give you a status on their approval. I am applying for one person now but she was denied. We are getting ready for appeal. Coming on a visitor visa seems to be the easiest too me since there is very little they have to provide when you file for them. You just have to give them proof that you will be able to support them while they are with you and give the embassy an approximate itenerary for their stay.
