K so I am applying to Cornell University. My SAT score is 2100, my GPA is 3.667 unweighted on a 4 point scale, (all of my classes are either honors or AP, and I go to Punahou-which is famous because Obama went there) and for extra curriculars I do Karate, and calligraphy. I have won awards for social studies and japanese, I am a part of the school math team and key club. I already have some college credits due to the fact that I already finished all of my AP classes for Japanese and social studies. Now do you think I have a chance? I'm not sure...my college counselors gave me a 50/50 chance. Do you think I should still apply?

  1. Go for it...don't have any regrets and apply to all the colleges you want to. You do have a great shot...I have the same SAT score but a higher GPA and my counselors said I have a good shot in getting in--but it also has to do with volunteer hours, and, sadly, sometimes race and geographic distribution comes in place.

Hopefully it'll turn out good for you--you might even find yourself at a better school.

good luck and I hope this helps.

  2. Sure, at the end of the day it's just a university like any other. Make sure the course they offer is right for you though because even if you do get in you might not enjoy it if it's not right for you!
