  2. Sounds like it to me!!!  Although I'm wondering if they have a minimum age requirement for entering?  (I'm not saying they do -- I just have no idea...)

    Good Luck!

  3. You do have a good chance, but I'm sure you know that the competition is high. You will need to get recommended by your congressional representative - some give recommendations out and there are a handful that (for some weird reason) seem never to. The Chinese will help you because it is something that is unusual.

One thing to consider is how to make yourself stand out from the applicant crowd - the truth is that almost every accepted academy applicant has a 4.0, is on the varsity x*x team, is valedictorian (or at the least salutatorian) with a good many hours of volunteer service in something or perhaps a full-time job to go with it (AND, of course, high test scores.)

What can you offer that is unique? (Chinese, Homeschooling)

Also, a long time ago (when I was considering applying) someone told me this: find your inspiration. Whatever keeps you motivated towards that goal of getting accepted - whether it's going to air shows, renting simulator flight time, watching the flight parts of Top Gun, etc. Whatever keeps your eye on the prize, find it. Once you've found it, use it to keep you motivated towards achievement.

I ultimately decided to go enlisted first but the academies have long held a place of honor in my heart. It's a hard slog but well worth the effort if you get in!

    Good luck
