Nixon (yes that is his registered name) is a 2 year old sorrel overo paint horse. Bred for halter, training for western pleasure. He is not for sale anymore, I just need to update his page. He is a nice mover for a halter horse.

You can scroll down for his pedigree.

  1. he needs a bit of groceries on him.

is it wrong to say that in his current status I really am not that thrilled by him...?

  2. Wow, people expect a lot from a still maturing 2 year old! His weight is fine for his age, its better to have them slightly under weight than over weight at his age. Plus if people really look at him they will see bright eyes and a really shiny healthy coat. I'm not even really a fan of Quarter horses as I train ponies and ride mostly Dressage. But I have friends who ride nothing but and I think he could make a great western pleasure horse. His movement looks nice and fluid. Or even a hunter/jumper. He's too young yet to really make a judgement on what he will excel at.

Sorry everyone seems to be negative, but he has a sweet look to him. So good luck with him :)

  3. He's sooo cute and I think he'll make it far in the show world!

  4. No one can give you an accurate appraisal on the Internet. Appraisal has a lot more to it than conformation and breeding. Health and history play a big part in appraisal as well. Your horse carrying Impressive on his papers alone would knock down value.

Not only that, but a halter horse is normally only bred for that. Just Halter! Halter horses are bred to have tiny feet with huge barrels of a body which often leaves them unsound if not having choppy gaits that make it hard to have a pleasurable ride. Not only that, but most halter horses often age and mature faster than their bones and joints. Hence, a 2 year old has a 6 year olds body on his 2 year old bones and joints.

  5. WOW! he is VERY cute!!!

Train him right, and he could be the pleasure horse to die for!

  6. there is something about his body that just doesnt look right, like it doesnt match up from the side view, but he is only 2 years old so he is still growing

i think he's really pretty, i love paint horses who do not have but a few splashes of white on them

  7. He lacks balance and structural correctness. He has a small unproportioned neck. Poor top line, shoulder sits low.

The horse market is so low right now. I have not seen any horses selling well.

I would say about $2000 or less.

If he had more training, it may be worth more as he ages.

  8. $1000.. he's a little thin without much color.. But he's got nice conformation.. I like him but I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for a 2 year old now a days.
