Approach girls in a way to be friends but impression to be like i like her?

Ok so i am tring to be more popular just so people will respect me more and like i want to talk and become friends with the popular girls but last time i did (just wanted to be friends) she thought i liked her and was like hitting on her and got around school wasent the best thing and its happedend more then once

I just want to be friends in a way so that poeple axily respect me oh and im just a 7th grade boy

The best way to be friends with popular girls at that age is to meet them through the popular guys. Middle schoolers are still a bit insecure and the guys who are dating them can freak out if they find out you're trying to go directly to them, know what I mean. As far as the situation on hand, middle schoolers often gossip, so it'll die over. Talk to her and say, "I don't mean this in a bad way, but, about before, I didn't approach you for that kind of thing. I just want more friends and you appear to be cool and someone I would get along with. I honestly just want to be your friend. Please don't take it wrong.". That might just get you in with being friends with her and her group! If you use those words exactly, it makes you seem confident, which is something popular kids like. Good job so far. Middle schoolers can take things out of context.

anyways,

it's easier becoming friends with girls if your all hanging out in a group.

Like 2 girls with 2 guys, or 5 girls hanging out with 5 guys.

Eat lunch with them, say hi to all of them in the halls, talk to all of them on msn.

Don't try and get close to any of them, or they will think you like them, unless you know its just friendship.

Go to the movies with them and go hang out , but make sure you don't go alone especially at first, or they will get the wrong impressions.

Always hang in groups if its just frineds (:
