rather then ground her why not lock her in her room one saturday, make sure she has no tv phone computer etc, serve her meals  in her room, and only let her out to use the bathroom, then get her to wright essays on why she is being punished and how she is going to stay out of trouble in the future.

this is a very boring punishment but it"s over quickly, much better then grounding her for weeks on end, it"s a good form of punishment because you know the child is safe and the worse the crime the longer the child stays locked up, i would suggest the younger the child the less time locked in perhaps half a day whould be punishment enough of course this would depend on how serious the offence was. a badly behaved teenager who wont stay grounded could expect to spend the entire weekend under lock and key.

ps on a safety note make sure you keep the key in the lock so you can let her out in an emergency, and make sure there is a adult close may to supervise her at ALL TIMES good luck
