  1. 5-5 is fine for a hooker. Remember that height is relative to that of your props. I've hooked before and I'm 5-6.

That being said, I think it's important for young rugby players not to focus on just one position. Learn to play a few positions very well. You'll be surprised at how much knowledge you gain from seeing the game from many different positions. Not to mention you'll see more game time if you know how to play the position of an injured teammate.

  2. Your height is getting close to being too tall. I would be checking the length of your neck if your neck is getting longer. I would start thinking about playing lock or brake-away

  3. I think it depends on the height of the rest of the front row, If both your props are tall then no you should be ok.........but if they are both short you WILL have problems.

My Teams front row are all over 6' and are very effective

  4. Your height sounds about perfect for hooker.

Look up Jerry Flannery for Ireland. He's a short stack at #2.

  5. Hooker? Wat, $lvt?

  6. The hooker for my team i only 5'6" or 5'7" and we are on the USA U19 team your not a bad height. You'll be fine
