Appropriate or inappropriate?

When I was younger (age 14)...I asked my mother if I could purchase a vibrator. She told me that I could order one online anytime I wanted. She said it was better than having s*x before I was ready and MUCH better than getting pregnant or catching an STD.

My mom and I can discuss ANYTHING. She's a very understanding and open-minded individual.

Do you believe that it was inappropriate for her to let me have a vibrator at this age? I don't think so. I'm currently 19 and still a virgin, so NO, it did NOT cause me to want the real thing.

P.S. Don't be rude, if you disagree with this, let me know in a nice way.

  1. Absolutely appropriate. Girls often don't have equality with boys in the way society thinks about sexuality. The "boys will be boys" outlook allows boys sexual pleasure, including masturbation. But many families have some weird stricture against girls pleasuring themselves, and this breeds shame for girls who discover their clitoris and learn how to m********e.

A vibrator helps a girl reach o****m, validates her sexuality, and adds to her feeling comfortable pleasuring herself. I also think it's a confidence and self esteem builder. I don't understand why people are so afraid when a young woman feels comfortable with her sexuality. I think having a vibrator for pleasure actually delays many girls a while from wanting s*x early with a boy just to feel loved, or to fit in socially.
