  1. you need to specialize and have a niche over the other guy

hey give me a reason to spend more at your place

and a classic car business is really vague are you talking about representing the  vehicles for sale

    are you storing the cars

are you building the cars from the ground up (reproductions/clones) or are you specializing in a part of the car like soft tops or something

you need to have a business model and study what the market is looking for and then find ways that you can cut out the cost of a place of business and have that as a goal

ie if you know how to restore soft tops start with real small steps and get the word around then move up from there

eventually your going to have to produce a portfolio that shows that you know how everything works in your market to prove to a bank that you are ready to make the next step

    goodluck

    goodluck

  2. What type of business?

Assume it will cost you at least $150,000 to open any small business.  Real estate, equipment, insurance, Capital improvements, Inventory, advertising, hiring a staff.  It all adds up pretty quick.  All of this needs to be paid for before you make your first nickel.
