Appt Application form

The landlord wants some info, like my Social Insurance number, proof of income, 3 non-relative references, my last 2 landlord's contact info, and a (refundable?) $100 application fee in cashier's cheque. He can't take a regular cheque.

Is this stuff usually required?

  1. Yup, pretty standard

  2. Sounds like a private estate agent. It's pretty standard and what you can expect from most lettings. If you can't do it, private lettings are your best bet.

  3. Sounds pretty standard to me except for the refundable application fee.  Most of those are non-refundable so you're lucky there.

  4. Yea this is normal, its out they weave out the BAD tennants.

  5. I think that's pretty normal, they have to protect themselves. Also it takes time to check all those references and money to check your credit.
