Aquarium Assistance?

My husband and I just bought an aquarium from a really nice lady on Craig's List. One problem- she gave us no instructions as to how to set up the filter, any other electric stuff that goes with it. The filter is a box type. Any help you could give would be great!

  1. that is easy to do. take the box rinse it out . hook it on the back side of your tank. make sure motor is in place

( electrical part. ) place tube down to the cover over the impeller. rinse the sponge thoroughly and the charcoal bag. place the sponge in the filter frame place the charcoal flat over the sponge. If the tube is placed in the slot properly plug in the filter and pour water from your tank into the top of the filter as the filter sucks water up the tube it will quiet down and water will start running out of the filter case and into your aquarium. if it seems to be fighting to get he water up the tube add more water into the filter box. you could actually fill it up. good luck with your new tank. the heater should be put in the water, if submersible place the whole thing under water. if it has a clamp on it with a s***w just put the heater down in the water and clamp it to the top edge on the back. do not submerse this type of heater they do get water on the inside.

  2. there are many box type filters, be more specific. Brand and model number would help.

  3. Here's Aqua clear manual. Print it and you will have it for reference,
