  1. well just make sure that there is not cracks so that the water cant leak through and also make sure that the fish tank is bigg enough for the type of fish tht you have but yea it would work just clean it out

  2. Hi I have just set up a tank today, and I filled it to test out if it was leaking. I just put  it in the bathtub so didn't matter if it leaked or not. Thankfully it was ok, but I did buy new electrical equipment to be on the safe side. Have fun choosing fish!

  3. you can try it out without fish see if it leaks....ask gma why the fish died and why noone is using the tank....or take it to a local fish store and see if they can take a look at the tank to make sure its still ok because you want to bye fish from there store and food.....

  4. fill it up with water and let it sit for a week or so. if it leaks, don't use it, but if it passes that test just take a good amount of time to scrub it out. also make sure you have a filter which works, correct chemicals(pet stores can help you with that), a heater, thermometer, and tank decorations. Also if you get this far make sure you let the tank sit with filter and chemicals working for 3 days before actually putting fish in.

  5. I agree with some people who have already answered. it is best to test fill the tank with water, preferably outside incase of leaks. if after a while you notice no leaking of water then it would be considered safe to use.

  6. You failed to mention what was going into it. Fish, reptiles? Lets assume fish. Just the tank or are the essentials with it? Filter, heater, deco? Fill the tank to see if there are any leaks. Leave it full for about 24 hours so the water can settle. It wouldn't hurt to purchase the rocks, gravel, or substrate you wish to use so the weight will be there as well.  Are the instruments (heater, filter, etc.) in working condition? I STRONGLY suggest you use a new power equipment, ESPECIALLY the heater just to be safe. More details would have helped more. Best of luck to you.

  7. Fill it up with water and put about 10 lbs of anything in it and let it sit for 2 weeks. ~~
