What aquarium silicone do you recommend? I have a Juwel tank...do I have to use Juwel silicone? Anything to use or avoid would be appreciated! ASAP please....baby neons are getting stuck in the filter and I need to stick the even smaller cover over it! (The Juwel filter box has slits but the fish are too small and are getting sucked in)

  1. Any kind of aquarium silicone will do, it doesn't have to be Juwel. You should be able to buy it from most fish shops. Just make sure its aquarium grade - don't buy silicon from B&Q, Homebase etc as this is chemicals in it which are harmful for the fish.

  2. If you have an unwanted stocking, cut a piece enough to wrap around the intake and secure it with a rubber band or fishing line, then the small fishes wouldn't get stuck after that.

And as for silicon, just use those that state that it's "Aquarium Safe" or "Fish Safe".

    Hopes that helps.

  3. You don't have to use Juwel, but it is black to match the tank sealing. You can use any sealant from a pet shop which is fish safe. Pets at Home sell 2 types, the Juwel one and another, which is safe to use.
