My hornwort has grown quite a bit since I got it, (Also since it doesnt have roots does it take it nutrients out of the water iteself instead of the gravel?)

but the branches look.. droopy, not perky like they used to look, is that what they are supposed to look like?

This is my first time having real plants so I'm pretty new to it all.

  1. Many aquatic plants don't need complicated root structures: they can absorb many nutrients from the water. Still, planting it in the gravel may provide some benefits, and it may grow a root structure. The wilting you're seeing may be a nutrient deficiency (unlikely) or a result of lack of light (more likely). Alternatively, your fish could be eating it, if they're plant-eaters.
