Aquatic plants?????????

I bought guppies a few weeks ago and there was a small piece of java moss that came with it. its about 4 inches now with 2 "branches"

will this eventually get bigger??? and how long will it take?? do it need to cut peices off as it gets larger to make more?

i also have some anacharis and java fern. do i need any fertalizers?

  1. No fertilizers required, your fish will supply that.  The Java moss will spread quickly (without cutting it) covering most of the bottom of the tank and some decor with a thick carpet of about 3 inches thick.  If it is instead Java fern that you have they grow to about 8 inched in length and will also look nice with the guppies swimming through it.


  2. you can add fertilizer to your water to help the plants grow more and give them sufficient nutrients they need, you can tie the java moss to a stone or onto a drift wood or you can just leave it there, it'll multiply on its own, without much fuzz.

  3. Yes! Thats the great thing about java fern you will soon have a full tank of it!
