Aquilonius expected to win Facebook Handicap
Aquilonius is expected to stand first in the Dundalk Stadium On Facebook Handicap which will be held on Friday, April 13 at Dundalk racecourse.
Over a distance of 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 150 yards, the J. S. Bolger-trained bay colt will compete against Carefree Smile, It’s Freezing, Pivotal Rock and Dart Queen.
With a bankroll of €6,900, the high-voltage contest is scheduled to begin at 6:45 (GMT). Each one of the five entries seems to be somewhat strong on the card but Aquilonius stands above all in terms of his unique class.
The three-year-old novice runner broke his maiden in his last outing on December 23, 2011. Running against 9 rivals, the dashing colt excellently notched up top spot in Crowne Plaza Hotel Leading Jockey & Trainer Awards 2011 2yo Nursery Handicap.
Despite being a non-favourite runner, he demonstrated outstanding performance in the race. His victory was quite remarkable.
Since making his debut in May 2011, the brilliant colt has run for 7 times to date. During the last three months, he underwent some significant training sessions in school.
At the moment, Aquilonius is awash with winning momentum which will surely help him thrive in today’s marathon. If he manages to avoid making any error on the track, his chances to finish first will be more than 90 percent.
None of his competitors can pose any challenge to him. However, Dart Queen and Pivotal Rock are likely to perform well.
Dart Queen is winless to date despite having participated in 22 races. The A. L. T. Moore-trained bay mare clinched 3rd and 4th spots in the last two outings of her career.
On the other hand, Pivotal Rock has won 1 out of his total 10 starts. T. Stack’s bay gelding finished 7th and 4th in his last two trips. Overall, he owns enough firepower.
In this situation, the competition is likely to be somewhat smooth and greatly predictable. No upset is likely to take place. Aquilonius will make his way towards victory convincingly.
