Arabian and an assortment of thoroughbreds on their way to conquer the 2012 Dubai World Cup Night throne
It would not be wrong to state that thoroughbreds and those also Arabian horses are by far one of the most pampered creatures to race through the face of the globe and as the 31st of March is just right here, Green Stables in Dubai is on its tip toe. The stable is located just adjacent to the Meydan Grandstand and the Race Course.
The race hardly lasts for two minute but the preparation is as much as a student would probably put for an exam that she/he needs to pass through. Training, grooming and putting up the unflinching attitude towards their growth and success is almost like parenting the foal that will one day make the trainer proud by bringing him back the cup that the trainer had desired for throughout.
It is not that the horses just like being treated as individuals rather they are one of those species who are proud, determined and almost full of themselves and are as emotional as the child which a human being would have brought up.
Erwan Charpy who supervises and manages the Green Stables and understands that training horses is not a profession rather it is a far flung passion that actually represents an extension of one’s personality.
"Horses have to be treated as individuals. You determine their ability and potential once they are put through training. We try to develop their fitness and potential by building up their muscles with the appropriate diet and training."
He does not take all the credit for training an unbelievable string of horses who know nothing better than only winning, as according to him it’s the team work that turns the trotting beauties into unforgettable champions.
If there is a creation that is treated beyond royalty then it has to be the racing breed of the horses and those also the Arabian pioneers of racing.
From their hooves to the diet to the regular checkups, these horses are given a 360 degrees evaluation each day for assuring that they stand out when they race and reach the wire before the rest can make it there.
It is truly astounding to the extent that the horses get impacted by their surroundings and that is just what Green Stable bears in mind. It is more of a horse community rather than a training facility or stable. Only if the horses could speak, there could have been no better socializing spot for them. There stables are designed in such a manner that the horses never feel deserted or alone and even have proper windows through which they can enjoy the scenery and fresh air.
"It helps the horse to de-stress,'' said Erwan, "horses require a lot of peace and calm to be able to give their best.''
Their attitude and behaviour is monitored throughout the day, so much so that if one of them refuses to have a proper diet, their training schedules are altered as per their convenience.
The stable is not only famous for its assortment of pure Arabian bred and a combination of thoroughbreds, it also holds the honour of bagging many important and influential races, specially the Jebel Ali Stakes Races due to which Erwan Charpy is also known as the King of Jebel Ali Stakes Races.
For now his deep focus is diverted towards the 2012 Dubai World Cup Night, the richest night on the horse racing calendar. After putting in such serious and channelised effort, it is just natural that he wants maximum winners from his own stable.
