Has anyone else noticed that the longer the U.S. is in Iraq, the more popular Arabic food seems to become? I want to know if people think that Arabic food and hooka bars have become the modern craze because of the war in Iraq, or if it's just coinsedental and it's just ME that's noticing this. (I married an Arab 2 years ago) ...and thanks to all that answer my silly question!

  1. Yes, but I think it started with 9-11.

Some people are just consumed with hate, but others become curious and want to learn at least a little about the other culture.

A lot more Americans are buying translations of the Quran and books about Islam and related topics. I think it's all part of the same trend.

  2. your question is not silly at all.

Arbaic Habits are nice that why people are adapting all over the world .

its good to see the positive side of arab culture than trying to see the other stuff media lies about

  3. Throughout history that has been a by product of war.Whether it be food or some other cultural aspect of two sparring entities. For another example, The G.I.'s of WWII came out of Asia with a acquired taste of the foods of the Pacific Rim. "Tiki" Restaurants and Bars flourished at this time. And the good ole' flip- flop. Yep, that summer time favorite also followed the Boys home. The list goes on and on.... Mid-Eastern cuisine is a wonderful addition to the western landscape. Its tasty and healthy. Your question is not silly. Its great "food" for thought.
