Arabic Muslim Contribution Question?

I am doing a report and I need RECENT, as in no earlier then late 1980's, global technological Muslim contributions. More specifically Muslims/Arabs from the middle east.

These contributions could be major advancements in medicine, engineering, science (biology, physics, chemistry, etc), or anything else that warrants an important worldwide achievement.

  2. Well we've been studying Arabs in Socials and one thing they did was invent the idea of hospitals which eventually changed the world and bad a few dozen textbooks. They develped a laboratory science of 'real' chemistry based on the strcture of chemical compounds and developed labatory equipment such as beakers and crystallizing dishes of a type that still in used today.

    They made important oveservations in the field of optics. The Arabs also developed the Arabic numeral system which we use today.

    They also developed paper currency, perfumes, soap, coffee, and sugary
