Aragorn Rouge to overcome high draw in Holiday Inn Wolverhampton Handicap
Aragorn Rouge failed to get off to a fine start from a wide draw at Kempton a few days ago, and was rather unfortunate to get nailed in the final stages. Again, the 4-year-old has a poor draw to tackle, but off his current lenient mark, he deserves respect
in Holiday Inn Wolverhampton Handicap, going down at Wolverhampton on Monday, November 05, 2012.
The Keith Dalgleish-trained has recently shown plenty of progress. After three terrible trips here in June-July, he took a break of more than two months. With a lot of energy, he returned to action on a high.
On his penultimate trip here at the start of last month, the son of Aragorn shared the podium in a tough clash. He built on that, and captured the runner-up spot last time.
Having made a couple of fantastic runs lately, the bay gelding is fully pumped. He is off very good mark on the best AW form, and after making a good start for the new yard, he is all set to make an impact in today’s battle.
He is going to face a dozen high-quality runners. The class 6 meeting will be run over one mile and 141 yards. The £1,704 event is scheduled to get started at 15:55 GMT.
Maggie Pink is unexposed, but this journey is a lot tougher than her fresh Kempton victory. The 3-year-old does not have an impressive record at Wolverhampton, as she was awful on her first five starts here.
Parque Atlantico and Odd Ball, on the other hand, look solid options. The former of the two is showing consistent work here these days, and needs just an extra push to get off the mark. Without an element of luck, his chances will not be no more than zero.
Similar is the case with Odd Ball. The 5-year-old has done business here in the past. Despite the fact that the Lisa Williamson-trained is currently going through a lean patch, his massive knowledge about the Wolverhampton track should not overlooked.
A thrilling contest is surely on the cards. Those who will suffer defeat should not be disappointed, because there are going to be easier options in the coming days. Good luck to all.
