Aramis Ramirez likely to sign with Milwaukee Brewers – MLB News
Some sources are speculating in the media that free agent Aramis Ramirez is likely to sign with the Milwaukee Brewers for next three years. The news of his arrival in the Brewers franchise is not fully confirmed by both sides but an inside source has told
a renowned sports media group that the deal will be out in the public in a few days.
Earlier, agent of Ramirez Paul Kinzer also told the media that the deal is still not finalised as the Brewers’ management will first take the physical which is pending by the doctors.
The news of Ramirez’s signing with the Brewers first came on Monday that the Milwaukee’s top management is looking very desperate to add some new players after seeing the dark future of their franchise.
Primarily, the decision of their star player Prince Fielder, who decided not to stay any further with the Brewers, led them to sign Ramirez and secondly a new controversy of Ryan Braun’s 50-game suspension in 2012 on using Performance-Enhancing Drugs (PED)
also provoked them to take some drastic steps forward in order to prevent any potential loss of talent in the next Major League season.
The Brewers, who are now looking very optimistic to sign Aramis Ramirez, is offering him $36 million guaranteed money for three years and mutual options for fourth year.
This was also revealed by Ramirez’s agent Kinzer saying four other MLB teams earlier were also persuaded him but only the Brewers came forward and made this potential offer. Kinzer said, “That was one of his criteria, there were about four teams that he
liked that were contenders, and Milwaukee was at the top of his list.”
The Brewers’ general manager Doug Melvin stating about this offer was also very pleased and said that Ramirez will bring a positive change in the roster. His stats are good for a team like us that needs an instant boost next season.
If Ramirez’s deal gets finalised, the Brewers franchise will be a very tough opponent as by signing Alex Gonzalez last week also gave them some much needed confidence before the next season.
