Arathi Sara beats Komal Antil in qualifying round of 2012 India International Challenge

Women’s Singles player Arathi Sara Sunil displayed unbeatable craft on the court and surged into second stage of qualifying round in Tata Open India International Challenge on December 12, 2012.
She intercepted the compatriot shuttler Komal Antil in the opening match which lasted only for two sets before ending with decisive figures of 21-15 and 21-11.
Both Indian campaigners entertained the crowd with a commendable show of badminton skills and earned great deal of admiration.
Arathi, who is an unseeded contestant in this International tournament, registered her presence with a staggering knock.
Meanwhile, Komal failed to employ an effective counterattack strategy and crashed out of the home event in a disgraceful manner.
The battle heated up immediately in the beginning of first set as Arathi did not waste any time and pushed her rival on the back foot with few power packed rallies.
She did not show any sign of confusion and placed her strokes so masterly that the opposing shuttler never had a chance of return shot.
She bagged many valuable points with masterly crafted smashes and deceiving drop net shots and piled an indomitable total of 11.
The latter part of game was full of action as Komal also showed some spark and brought life back to the contest with her electrifying performance.
However, luck was not on her side as she blundered in the crucial moments and allowed her challenger to claim first match point.
Arathi, who was at lower end at that stage, did not squander this opportunity and stormed back with a strong reply. At first, she levelled the score and then registered an overwhelming figure of 21-15.
This timely win proved a real boost for her as she played with even more precision in the following game and served notice of her supremacy.
She started the beating from very stroke and did not show any mercy all the way to game point situation.
Komal did not have any reply to her opponent’s strategy and she kept trailing behind all the way to final moments.
Arathi placed a winning margin of 21-11 and setup her next clash with another Indian shuttler Niharika Saini in last stage of the qualifying round.
