DFW Lakes in Grapevine, Texas. French Rezai won the set with 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory in 1 hour and 57 minutes.
Although, the Slovak had achieved to hit only 26% of her first serves on target, she was able to win most of her opponent’s games.
As the French had committed many unforced errors that lost her points, she thus, attained only 23 out of 42 points in her total service points, making it a 55% win against the Slovak who bagged a 45% win of her total return points.
Mean while, the Slovak saw an excellent overall score of her total service points and won 63% in comparison to a weak respond by Rezai, that won her only a 37% win of the total return points.
Rybarikova had gained a central edge because she was able to break her opponent twice while, her opponent had broken her once. Therefore, by accomplishing a win of 52% in the total set score and by gaining 3 more points, she bagged
the set and took a lead of 1-0.
The second set saw a complete reversal of fate; Rezai had pulled up her sleeves and took a notch higher in her overall performance of the set.
The total service points won by Rezai were 13 out of 19, making it a walloping 68% win against the Slovak who had a poor return of a 32% win in the total return points of the set.
In addition, the French was rallying it out and winning most of her returns, thus, winning an exceptional 62% win of the total return points in the set.
Breaking her opponent thrice won her the set and by accomplishing almost twice as many points as her Slovak opponent.
By the second set, both players had bagged a set each and this was the deciding set, as to who is a better player.
As Rezai found her confidence and hammered her way to scoring a 12 out of 15 points, making it an ostentatious 80% win of her total service points, Rybarikova nose-dived in her returns and was unable to reply back to her opponent’s
serves thus, she scored only 3 out of 15 points, making it a pitiable 20% win of her total return points.
The French defence was sturdy as an ox and did not setup a single break point occasion for her opponent to break her but instead was able to capitalise on 27% of her break points won.
By accomplishing twice as many points as the Slovak’s, the French sailed through in the third set to secure a berth in the second round.
