http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-Arbeloa-c5282 believes Atletico Madrid are one of the best teams in Europe ahead of Real Madrid’s clash with city rivals.
The two Madrid-based clubs encounter each other on this Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
Atletico have been doing exceptionally well since the start of the season and Arbeloa thinks their neighbours have gone through a big transformation since the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Simeone.
The right-back is amazed at how well Atletico are doing at the moment and believes the one major factor that has led to this rise is the presence of the Argentine boss, Simeone.
“You just have to look at the League table to realise [how well they are playing]. Since the arrival of Simeone I think they have completely changed.”
The Rojiblancos have lost only one out of their opening 13 matches in the Primera Division. Their impressive run in the domestic league has enabled them to be on the second spot, just three points behind leaders, Barcelona.
“Today they are probably one of the best team in Europe.”
Moreover, the Spaniard talked about how his team is always given a tough time by their opponents and the fact that his side face difficult encounters almost every week.
“Every weekend Real Madrid plays a difficult game. Opponents always give 100 per cent against us.”
Last week Los Blancos lost to Real Betis by 1-0. That result was a huge blow to Real’s chances of retaining their La Liga title as they are now 11 points behind their arch-rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
Despite the setback to their hopes of defending their title, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 man believes his team has the ability to turn things around. He stated that it is in the club’s nature to never give up and always fight to the end.
“I think that if there is any team who can turn around a situation like this, it is Real Madrid. It's something we have in our DNA – we always fight to the end and try to achieve impossible things.”
The defending champions will host their derby-rivals, Atletico Madrid, at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
