The Fool goes immediately into ATK mode whenever its attacked face-down.

If you set The Fool in face-down deffense position and it is attacked, when it is flipped it remains in deffense position. It's effect only prevents it from being switched into deffense manually when face up unless you use a card effect like Enemy Controller. But since it was played in deffense as long as you don't flip summon it, it will remain in deffense unless switched manually or with a card effect.

Its effect prevents it from being "switched" to defense. If you set it and it's attacked, nothing happens.

i think it will go into atk position since its effect prevents it from going into defense position. so spirit barrier should be used with it
