  1. you can get an ankle brace, wear shoes with high arches (such as nike brand or hip hop shoes) use a thera band (available at dance stores) and flex and pointe your foot in it, get a tennis ball and put it under your arch while you stick your foot under a couch or anything that is low and will stretch your ankle.

  2. You can't. You either have a high arch or you don't. There are some advantages to having low arches, too.

  3. I think your arch is your arch, sort of like your turn out.  But you can work on flexing and pointing your whole foot, do that thing where you releve, then center over the balls of your feet and plie.  Work on keeping them supple.  When your feet are really sore, or the skin is really rough, before bed slop the dollar store variety of Vicks Vapo Rub on them (not between the toes) and put on some socks.  Your feet will be so much smoother and feel a lot better in the morning.  It may help you sleep better too.

  4. point your feet and hold them there for a while...also you can put the ball of your foot up against a wall with your back to the wall (standing) and then try to straighten your leg and stand paralell with the wall, while keeping your foot there! I do this in ballet and it has really improved my arch! I hope this helped!

  5. u just are born flat footed... like me... no prob... just get a shoe thats flexible and bends it into an arch... it helps me get the " pointe arch" look... u can also do exercises my dance instructor taught me... using ur foot... not leg... write the ABC's in the air...

  6. do exercises with your foot such as point it for like 10 minutes on each foot. do that everyday. eventually, it will work!

    :D

  7. Yes, you can inprove it. There is a product that we use at dance that looks like this http://tampa.craigslist.org/spo/72840237... If you use it every day, your arches get amazingly higher. I am not trying to advertise this product but it is amazing.

  8. ummmmmm you're either born with it or not

  9. Sit down with your legs straight out and point your feet. Watch tv orr something while you do it. If you do this for a good amount of time a day, your arch with be better.

  10. *Use a thera band, you can get them at a dance store...or i got mine at walmart. put the thera band around your toes and pointe and flex them.

*take a tennis ball, put it under yor foot and point allowing your arch to curve around the ball

*do alot of tendus..make sure your really pushing off the floor it works your feet better.

*Sit on your floor and just pointe your feet then flex then pointe...and so on

  11. Hi Dancer,

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about your arch, or turnout, for that matter (since you mentioned it).  By the time you hit around eight years old*, your bones stop shifting and they're pretty much in the same place they will be for the rest of your life.  That means your turnout and arch won't shift much, no matter how much you sit over them and turn them out, because your bones have stopped moving.  Trust me, it's pretty much physically impossible to improve the arch or turnout.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, so let me give you some suggestions.  Try what the other answerers are saying, and if it works, wonderful!  You just proved me wrong.  But if it doesn't, you can always try arch enhancers.  They're not totally honest, but they enhance your arch and make your foot look beautiful.  Try these links:

Good luck and hope this helped.  Please feel free to contact me with further questions.  Keep dancing!♥

*of course, this varies for each person.  The bones develop at different rates, so you might be nine, or you might be seven when this happens.
