Archbishop in contention for winning the RSA Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3)
Archbishop will be a solid contender for victory in the RSA Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3) at Goodwood in England on Friday, August 3, 2012. A cash prize of £31,191 will be awarded to the class-1 winner.
The going will be good in the 1 mile event, which is scheduled to start at 14:35 GMT. The competition will definitely be a stiff one, as there are some quality performers lined up for action today.

Arch’s son debuted in 2011 and took part in a couple of races that year. His performance in his very first outing was quite impressive, as he managed to finish on top of the table, despite not being rated as the favourite back then.
However, the young runner was unable to continue the winning momentum and finished in a disappointing sixth place next time around. Despite that, he came back strongly this year and delivered a couple of solid runs for his team.
In his first race of the 2012 season, Archbishop secured the runner up position by a nose distance. He followed that up with another second place finish after a close battle with his rivals.
Although the American colt has been unable to win since his first race, yet he has shown signs of improvement. He will be ridden by veteran jockey, Frankie Dettori, who knows how to perform in pressure situations.
