  1. Archeology is the study of ancient civilizations anthropology is the study of man.

  2. anthropology intrests me more

  3. Archeology is the science that studies human cultures through the recovery, documentation, analysis and interpretation of material remains and environmental data, including architecture, artifacts, features, biofacts, and landscapes. Because archaeology's aim is to understand mankind, it is a humanistic endeavor. That's interesting.

And Anthropology is the study of humanity. Anthropology has origins in the natural sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences, which is also interesting.

So,its your choice to choose mate.Good luck!

  4. When I went to university, I had a very similar choice to you. I chose anthropology. It's really interesting, but very academic and not hands-on at all.

I was drawn to archaeology because of its connection to history, but also because it could be hands-on (this depends on your course. Many places offering archaeology offer it as a BA, which means you'll be learning about digging, not actually digging. Those that teach it as an MSc will let you dig things up more. So check the courses!! They differ from place to place).

Anthropology is really interesting and was a great choice I don't regret at all. On the other hand, I now fully intend to take a masters in archaeology!! Actually, in osteoarchaeology [digging up bones of animals and humans] - probably the influence of the anthropology course!

The key to your choice is looking at what the universities/colleges offer inside the course. Anthropology is very academic and theoretical. MSc archaeology is 50-50 hands on to theoretical (depending on the courses).

  5. archaeology is a part of anthropology... so um both!
