Archie Manning backtracks from reservation to see Peyton and Luck play together for Colts – NFL News
Former American football player Elisha Archibald (Archie) Manning has back tracked from his earlier reservations on possibility of Indianapolis Colts Peyton Manning and their next season's potential draft pick Andrew Luck playing
together at quarterback position.
Archie Manning is New Orleans Saints’ former quarterback who played American National Football League (NFL) from 1971-75 and then again from 1977-82. Now he has two sons playing for the NFL; Indianapolis Colts' quarterback Peyton
Manning and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.
The Indianapolis Colts who ranked at the bottom of NFL current season after losing all of their 12 games have so far emerged eligible to sign Stanford College's quarterback Andrew Luck as their draft prize next season.
However the Colts face many questions before going for signing of Luck next year. One of these questions surrounds the possibility of Peyton Manning's recovery from his neck injury and return, which is now seen very much likely,
and his willingness to play at quarterback position in presence of Andrew Luck.
The Colts also face same question in the context of Luck's eagerness to play besides Manning. Luck too is seen as a mature draft player and there can be a possibility of his objection to accept a change in his position at quarterback
slot.
Archie Manning while giving a possible answer to this question in a Fox Sports Radio programme a day earlier said that he did not think both quarterbacks would like to be on the same team.
He however changed his stance next day saying that he believed both could work together fine.
"I'm sure they could," Archie Manning said. "Andrew is a great young man and we've enjoyed getting to know him. He and Peyton have a friendship, and I'm one of the few people out there that's not really concerned about this deal.
All good people respect each other and I'm sure this will all shake out."
The issue was not as serious for the Colts earlier as they had not been so much hopeful for Peyton Manning recovery and return this season. The latest scans however have allowed the player to intensify his workout leading up to
his comeback hopefully before end of this season.
This confirms that Peyton will definitely be available for Colts next year, while they being at the lowest ebb also deserve the top draft prize Andrew Luck. It is however yet to be seen whether the player will chose to go professional
from next season and if Colts will sign him.
They will have a choice then to either place him at any number for quarterback position to play besides Peyton Manning or else trade him with any of 32 NFL franchises.
