  1. It is extremely commendable that, at 15, you are planning for your future.

In order to succeed in any line of work, a good history of dependability, sound judgment, and perserverance will start you off well-prepared.  Take a part-time job, engage in volunteerism, and participate in clubs and other activites, in order to become adept at handling responsibility, and working as part of a team.

To prepare for work in the architectural fields, a good educational background in computers, math, physics, and fine arts will give you a good base start.  Taking shop courses, such as woodworking, mechanics, and drafting will hone your visual-spatial and perceptive abilities.

In your spare time, you will want to take in museum exhibits and other displays of the history of architecture, as well as developing an appreciation for the visual art medium.  As you come closer to graduation, do some research, maybe along with your school guidance counselor, as to which architecture firms are operating local to you.  Make a chance to volunteer or take a small job in the firm, even if it means emptying garbage cans, so that you can get your foot in the door, show that you are sincerely interested inthe field, and are available to them at any time.

Look into the most prestigious, and the most local, and the most specialized university programs in architecture in your region.  Discern why they are considered best, or what makes each stand out from the others, so that you can begin to prepare for those that you wish to apply for.
